AZB BOD Dudes and Dudettes, I've already received private mail regarding our Rally from FJR Folks.  They're wondering why I gave them a 2011 Rally link!!!

Damn, for a retired guy, you sure are impatient.  Cut your gainfully employed BOD members some slack.  It's on the list.

http://www.azycamps.org/ Here's the Official Website of Camp Sky-Y here in Arizona.  This'll be our first year at this location and it looks to be an incredibly scenic location for a motorcycle Rally.

I will see you in Prescott at the AZ Beemers Roadrunner Rally on Friday, May 18!

No problemo, ese!  I've already covered your ass (huge project!); I have let everybody know, that has inquired, the AZB Roadrunner Rally is in PRESCOTT!

Their magazine "On The Level" is fantastic, plenty of reason to join just for this publication.

Absolutely, I find it a notch or two a better read than the BMWMOA ON.

For Your Information: Our negotiated rate, for one room with two beds for two people non-smoking and downstairs, is $94.99 a night; tax is $11.73 nightly.

Total of $106.72 times two: $213.44 with taxes included.  Great rate and place, really looking forward to Roadrunner Rally 2012 and the wet T-shirt contests!

Here's a picture of our SkooterG before last year's wet T-shirt contest!  I can't post up the "before" picture of Enrique from last year, it was much too risque!

http://www.bmwra.org/rallymap/ Brother BB and The Boys, did you ever get 10 members to keep up our BMW RA Club Charter?  We're not on their rally map!

Again, my BMW RA Membership Number is 21856. http://www.azbeemers.org/rally2011.php Just double checked this, we're still showing 2011 info on our website!

Dear AZ Beemers President Brian Boles and the AZ Beemers Board of Directors,

Just booked a room at the Prescott BW after looking at our website for more info.  Are you fine folks aware that other than Foiler making one reference to the Prescottonian, there is no other information regarding available hotels or even the Rally Dates itself on either our Website or in our Forum; anywhere?

I did go to www.bmwmoa.org and yes we are listed there, but we do not have any information on our own website or anywhere within our AZB Forum.

Since I have been a member since 1995 I naturally know that our Roadrunner Rally is always on the third weekend of May, but outsiders do not know this.

Hi Brian - I was looking around to see when the 2012 rally was - If it follows suit with other years I would be around the May 18th Weekend.  If so, that is the same weekend as the Overland Expo 2012 in Mormon Lake, AZ - two great options for riding if you ask me!

    2012 Rally Location - Prescott Camp Sky-Y
The 2012 Roadrunner Rally will be held near Prescott, AZ at YMCA Camp Sky-Y.

Sky-Y is adjacent to the Senator Highway, just before the pavement turns to dirt.

The camp is just over 7 miles from downtown Prescott.  It took me 14 minutes to travel from the camp to downtown, doing the speed limits.  For those unfamiliar with Senator Hwy, it is a south turnoff of AZ-69 just east of downtown on to Mt. Vernon St.

The area is over 6500' and in the tall ponderosa pines.

Here's a map of the camp facilities.

Here's a pano shot looking out from the office building. The cafeteria is the large building to the right.  The camp villages are right and left of that central open area.

As you can see on the map, there are 4 camp villages.  Each village has bunkhouses and a bathhouse.

This shot is looking down the central area.

Here's a shot around the bunkhouses in one of the villages.

Most of the bunkhouse villages have a campfire pit and gathering area. The walking areas around the bunkhouses are mostly dirt with wood chips thrown on for erosion abatement.

Here's a look inside of a bunkhouse.  Pictures taken during a kids camp, messy.

Here is a typical bath house.  Each tends to have several shower stalls and a couple of heads.  They looked clean and well maintained.

    Here's the cafeteria.

Here is Holmes Hall, the meeting hall.  It is wired for sound and has a band stage. It can support about 200 people. This would be the setup area for the vendors also.

This is the health center building near the office.

At the northeast end of the camp, is a flat area on top of a hill that can support quite a few tent camping areas.  The Sky-Y camping area is natural forest cover.

This is a shot from the main office looking toward the main parking area and the activity area.

This is the main parking lot area.  The paved road is in the gap in the trees on the left.  There's plenty of room to stage runs and demo rides from this area.

This is the ampitheatre and the pool.  The pool will be available for our use at the camp.

So, that's the $0.50 tour.  Hope to see you there !!

OK. the Bestwestern Prescottonian will be holding 40 rooms for the BMW road runner rally with a special rate for rallygoers. They probably wont have these actually available until the end of next week. Just inform the hotel that you are with the BMW rally and they should get you taken care of.  8)
